Exciting new management qualification from QA-IQ
Accredited by Middlesex University’s Institute for Work Based
Learning
15 April, 2008
QA-IQ has today launched a new accredited programme
for management development in a unique partnership with
Middlesex University’s Institute for Work Based
Learning.
This degree-level qualification combines the flexibility of
building knowledge through QA-IQ’s renowned ‘Art of People’
courses with guided learning in the workplace to embed skills
and deliver hands-on experience. The programme will be
completed by a work based assignment, applying the skills
learnt directly to a relevant project.
Vice-Chancellor of Middlesex University, Professor
Michael Driscoll comments; “Middlesex University is
delighted to be working in partnership with QA-IQ to offer
Institute of Work Based Learning qualifications. This
partnership will benefit more organisations and individuals,
and help UK businesses increase their competitiveness.”
Director of Learning Development at QA-IQ, Dr Brian
Sutton, adds; “These qualifications provide the full
skill set needed to be an effective manager, while delivering
knowledge that is immediately applicable in the workplace.
Organisations and individuals can have the confidence that
Middlesex University’s track record in work based learning
combined with QA-IQ’s innovative courses will deliver an
exceptional learning experience.”
• Programmes begin with the
QA-IQ Certificate in Management for those new to
management or team leadership. This introductory level
qualification will help to develop the skills needed to lead a
team, the relationship skills to create and influence personal
networks, and the knowledge to perform effectively.
• The
QA-IQ Diploma in Management provides skills for
those managing cross-functional or pan-organisational
initiatives, and leading dispersed teams. Those completing the
programme will understand how to successfully kick off new
initiatives, build a compelling business case, and negotiate
effectively.
• The
QA-IQ Advanced Diploma in Management supports those
who already have broad management skills but now need to bring
about transformational changes in business performance. New
skills developed will include coaching for performance and
transformational leadership, dealing with organisational
politics and the tools and techniques of business
transformation.
The programme has been developed to ensure that attendees
immediately see the relevance of the new skills to their
day-to-day role, with experienced tutors supporting learners
throughout the programme and helping them to reflect on how to
put their new knowledge in to practice. Access to Middlesex
University’s ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ means that students
will also be able to refer to library materials and the latest
journal articles, as well as completing their assignments from
their workplace.
