The IT Professional Apprenticeship Plus

Extending QA-IQ ’s pivotal role in educating the UK’s IT professional base, its Empower division is working with the IT and Telecoms sector skills council, e-Skills UK, and City & Guilds to design and support an innovative IT professional apprentice package. 

This includes:

• A learning roadmap to offer the right breadth of technical, best practice and people skills such that apprentices can flourish in any IT environment
• Supporting instructor PowerPoint slide decks, accompanying notes and student manuals to ensure that the right depth of employer-focused content is supporting the learning objectives.

Government attention is turning towards apprenticeships as a means to provide education to those that want a fulfilling career, but have decided not to pursue the higher education route.  The target is to grow the number of apprentices from 100,000 to 400,000 by 2020 as set out by government in its implementation of the Leitch review.  QA-IQ Empower is ideally placed to support learning providers, employers and apprentices in becoming a part of this as it:

• Has years of experience in developing rounded individuals with a good understanding of IT’s role in business
• Employs cutting edge content that is already used to great effect in industry
• Standardises learning materials amongst a multitude of instructors yet facilitates varied learning styles and shared experience
