Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
The new Microsoft Certified Technology
Specialist (MCTS) certification allows you to show specific
knowledge and expertise in a Microsoft technology, whether you
are an IT Professional or a Developer. The MCTS certification
is for professionals who want to demonstrate their capabilities
in implementing, building, troubleshooting and debugging
particular Microsoft technologies.
There are nineteen MCTS certifications with new certifications
becoming available with the release of new Microsoft products.
Currently, the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist covers
Microsoft Project, .Net Framework 2.0, SQL Server 2005, BizTalk
Server 2006, Live Communications Server 2005, Exchange Server
2007, Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows Server 2003, SharePoint
Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Server 3.0, and Windows
Vista.
It will soon cover Windows Server 2008 plus the new versions of
SQL Server and Visual Studio.
SharePoint 2007 Configuration
The MCTS – SharePoint 2007 Configuration
certification means that you will have a good understanding of
how to configure and deploy SharePoint 2007. In addition, you
will need an understanding of SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005
and also .NET2.0 to ensure you have the necessary skills and
expertise to configure SharePoint Server 2007.
